Carbondale Main Street is again proud to announce the tenth annual Mediscom/OnMedia Main Street Pig Out in Carbondale, Illinois. The bar-b-q cook-off will take place on Friday, September 15 and continue through Saturday, September 16 in the 710 Bookstore Parking lot area at 710 S. Illinois Ave. This event is sanctioned and regulated by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and has been proclaimed by Illinois Governor George Blogojevich as a State Championship BBQ Cook-off.

Fifteen teams will compete in four categories: Beef Brisket, Chicken, Pork Ribs & Pork Roast. The Grand Champion/Reserve Grand Champion will receive trophies and cash prizes, and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each of four categories

Registration for bar-b-q teams is still open, but is limited to 15 teams. There is a $25 entry fee to compete in each of four categories. All entries must be received by August 21st, 2006. .Each competitor will get a booth approximately 15’ x 20’.
