The Science Center of Southern Illinois, located in University Mall, Carbondale, is a hands-on children’s science museum designed for children ages 3 to 13. Come touch a Tornado, control a River and explore several interactive hands-on exhibits dealing with a variety of basic concepts of science, which entice the user to ask questions of the world around them in a fun and exciting way.
The Science Center is open 10-6 Monday through Thursday, 10-9 Friday and Saturday, and 12-5:30 on Sunday. Admission is $2.50 per person. Children 3 and under, Carbondale Park District Residents and Science Center Members are admitted FREE. Science Center membership benefits include FREE admission to over 200 Science Museums and Technology Centers WORLDWIDE!!
